Charlotte stopped staring at the wondrous ship around to look at the boy in front of her. He was handsome, even if his little ponytail was a bit dorky. Oh goodness, my Prince Charming. She straightened her hat and brushed her outfit off. “Oh goodness, yes. I’m looking for the…” Charlotte thought about the proper boat slang. “Cap’n!” She said with the accent of a pirate in a play she saw. They were both on boats…that made sense, right? “I’m the cabin girl!” She smiled, flirtatiously. “Care to escort a Southern belle?” She winked. Maybe this trip won’t be all bad.

“So you’re the cabin girl, huh?” Jim wondered, giving her a quick scan. Quickly nodding, he motioned for her to come with him. “Follow me.” As soon as he turned around to lead her to the captain’s stateroom, he made a face. She wasn’t just trying to flirt with him, was she? That was very strange, he thought.

Charlotte followed her guide like a lost puppy. Hmph. Not even a blink. Charlotte thought, annoyed. Time to bump it up a notch. She pulled her shirt just a bit, when Jim was turned around. She picked up her stuff and tried to catch up with Jim. “So…are you the captain?” Charlotte asked. Even if he’s not a prince, a captain would be good enough.

Pfft yeah, I wish, Jim thought. He would have liked to say he was captain. Or maybe at least be the first mate. Although, he was getting one step closer to that. Instead, he turned to glance at her with a sheepish look, gradually shaking his head. “Er, no. I’m just a cadet. I help out here and there but uh, I’m still in training.”

“Oh.” Charlotte was slightly disappointed. A cadet was NOT a captain and certainly NOT a prince. Well, he DID have a title…could it be as good as a prince? Maybe, if anything. he was nice to look at and she needed something to distract her from the work she will have to go through. “Well, I suppose it’s better than cabin girl, amirite?” She giggled.

mintberrycake:

like tiana from princess and the frog says the fastest way to a mans heart is through his stomach!

Ingredients

  • 1 1/2 cups lukewarm water
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 envelope active dry yeast
  • 2 eggs, slightly beaten
  • 1 1/4 teaspoons salt
  • 1 cup evaporated milk
  • 7 cups bread flour
  • 1/4 cup shortening
  • Nonstick spray
  • Oil, for deep-frying
  • 3 cups confectioners’ sugar

Directions

Mix water, sugar, and yeast in a large bowl and let sit for 10 minutes.

In another bowl, beat the eggs, salt and evaporated milk together. Mix egg mixture to the yeast mixture. In a separate bowl, measure out the bread flour. Add 3 cups of the flour to the yeast mixture and stir to combine. Add the shortening and continue to stir while adding the remaining flour. Remove dough from the bowl, place onto a lightly floured surface and knead until smooth. Spray a large bowl with nonstick spray. Put dough into the bowl and cover with plastic wrap or a towel. Let rise in a warm place for at least 2 hours.

Preheat oil in a deep-fryer to 350 degrees F.

Add the confectioners’ sugar to a paper or plastic bag and set aside.

Roll the dough out to about 1/4-inch thickness and cut into 1-inch squares. Deep-fry, flipping constantly, until they become a golden color. After beignets are fried, drain them for a few seconds on paper towels, and then toss them into the bag of confectioners’ sugar. Hold bag closed and shake to coat evenly.

Charlotte LaBouff had an advantage as the daughter of a sugar barren. She was a passenger on the TOP-SECRET rocket ship of the 1920s. ((Sorry this shit doesn’t make sense.)) She was leaving Big Daddy and her friend, Tia for an entire year to be in space as a cabin girl for a ship. Big Daddy thought it might teach her responsibility and Tia wanted her to learn to cook for once. Last time, Tia tried to teach her, the entire kitchen of the Tiana’s Place had to be renovated. However, Charlotte was not pleased. There were no princes in space and she couldn’t wear any of her cute dresses. She had to actually work, especially since Big Daddy cut her off.

She got off the ship on a crescent-shaped port in her bright pink ensemble. With her giant hat on, her pink sparkly suitcase in one hand and a pout on her face, she marched to the ship port to report for duty. Along the way, she saw many strange faces which fascinated, terrified and sickened her. Getting on the ship, her face must have been as green as the grass she left behind on Earth.  Goodness, Lottie. She thought. Pull yourself together. You can do this. She glanced around, lost. Now…where do I sign in?

Jim had missed the fresh Etherium breeze. Almost as much as he missed visiting his family and friends before he went on another voyage. It felt like his voyage to Treasure Planet was just yesterday, and that was just the start for him. He’s been on quite a few voyages already, as a space cadet. Although, he was desperate to become a captain. He knew he was ready for it. Maybe it was possible to get that position after this voyage. He had always hoped for that to happen soon. But for now, he had to follow the orders from the current captain.

In the meantime, Jim made sure the crew had gotten everything ready to depart. It all seemed like it was going well. Everything appeared to be in place. Well, almost everything. Coming aboard on the ship was a girl, which seemed to be kinda lost or something. Not only that but she didn’t even look like the sailing type. Was this really the girl that was expected to come on this ship? Raising an eyebrow, Jim went up to the girl. “Uh, need help, miss?”

Charlotte stopped staring at the wondrous ship around to look at the boy in front of her. He was handsome, even if his little ponytail was a bit dorky. Oh goodness, my Prince Charming.
